WOW! Is it time for bed yet?!

It was amazing to release our brand new, alternative audio guest books into the wild at The Un-Wedding Shows because, let’s face it, if any crowd is gonna love our personality-packed designs, it’s this one.

You see, we know our audio guest books aren’t for the masses. That’s the whole point.

There are plenty of other audio guest books out there that look just like telephones, so the world doesn’t need any more of that, right? … btw… no shade. We have plenty of pals in the audio guest book business, and we can totally recommend some shit hot phones for you, if our novelty range doesn’t float your boat… just hit us up for our recos… or, if you want something a bit different… a statement… a conversation starter (pun intended)… a cool styling moment… a fun photo opportunity… entertainment for your guests… you need an ‘I just called to say…’ agb!

Anyway, I digress. I came here to tell you about The Un-Wedding Show, didn’t I?

Let’s take a look back…

THE UN-WEDDING SHOW SHEFFIELD

We kicked off at The Un-Wedding Show Sheffield back in February 2024, at Trafalgar Warehouse and it was great to introduce ourselves to the friendly Yorkshire crowd.

This particular event was a real learning curve for us, in terms of knowing how to sell our service to people. It’s scary putting yourself out there!!

Funnily enough, a lot of people didn’t know (at first glance) what we were showcasing. A valuable lesson to never assume anything. It was all good though, it gave us something to rectify in time for the next event… never underestimate the need for clear signage!

THE UN-WEDDING SHOW LONDON

Next up, we were in London for The Un-Wedding Show’s flagship event which happens bi-annually and is a 2 day extravaganza!

It’s true what they say, The Un-Wedding Show feels like more like a party where you can book a whole bunch of unique suppliers for your wedding while you are there!

After participating in many of these wedding fairs, we got a strong feeling that each city has its personality. London was by far, our most successful event, maybe because it is the capital, and perhaps because it’s such a BUSY one but we really felt like ‘I just called to say…’ was well-received in LDN and have already fulfilled one of our awesome bookings from the event.

Also, still not over the incredible blooms from our pals at Filth.

One of the things we really want to achieve with our display is to give couples some inspiration as to how they can style one of our audio guest books on their wedding day, and collaborating with our favorite florists is a great way to do this. The flowers also make a nice ‘thank you’ to nanny for looking after our kids all weekend!

We can’t bloody wait until the next one on 19th and 20th October 2024. Will we be seeing you there?!

THE UN-WEDDING SHOW BRISTOL

In March, we were in Bristol at the STUNNING Armada House where we got chatting to some lovely couples, and other local suppliers… can’t forget those guys! In fact, one of the best things about showcasing at wedding fairs, or The Un-Wedding Show, specifically, is the chance to network with other wedding business owners. And we loved the Bristol crowd!

As a venue, Armada House was full of splendour and atmosphere, a perfect space for a luxe wedding with so many amazing photo worthy spots for photographers to get some incredible shots of their couples.

We teamed up with Bristol based florist, the lovely Chloe from Mio Floral Studio to bring our stand to live with some playful florals that really popped against the pink uplighters that we were lucky to be placed in front of.

THE UN-WEDDING SHOW LIVERPOOL

In April, The Un-Wedding Show hit Liverpool for it’s debut event in the city, at Fabric Studios - a brand spanking new event space that blew us all away!

When it comes to alternative wedding venues, we’re HUGE fans of a blank canvas and Fabric Studios is just that, the perfect space for you to put your stamp on.

By now, it was becoming apparent that every city has it’s own unique personality, and we absolutely loved the vibe at the Liverpool show! Such a friendly crowd, and a surprising number of people who had never heard of an audio guest book before!

We were super-excited to collaborate with one of Liverpool’s top florists for our display, Mary Mary Florals. Icelandic Poppies are our faves and Anna had included stems that were the size of dinner plates!… INCREDIBLE!

THE UN-WEDDING SHOW MANCHESTER

Last but not least, we finished the tour on 19th May at the iconic Victoria Warehouse in Manchester with another strong crowd of around 500 awesome couples!

Victoria Warehouse is has a real party vibe and was once the home of Manchester’s infamous Warehouse Project. Definitely one for the ravers out there! In fact, we were a bit gutted that our Acid Smiley audio guest book wasn’t available for this one cos we can’t think of a better location for this lil guy!

Luckily, we had a new audio guest book to add to the collection - a very cool purple version of our ‘most hired’ model, Big Mouth. These phones, along with our Acid Smiley are 90s vintage and way more fun than the usual audio guest book telephones that you tend to see!

We partnered with Manchester based florsit The Bud And Pot for this show and Hannah totally overdelivered on our playful and colourful brief with bright yellow daffodils, shiny red Anthuriums, and blue Hydrangeas… she even added some fresh fruit… cherries and lemons… something to snack on during the busy afternoon… the cherries, not the lemons!

We can’t lie, we’re happy take a little break from showcasing until the Autumn/Winter, so that we can work towards fulfilling some of the awesome wedding bookings we have. But we can’t wait to be back at The Un-Wedding Show London and Birmingham later this year, and who knows? Maybe we will have some new audio guest books to add to the lineup!
